Things to Do in Oahu, June 19–21, 2026 (Father's Day Weekend)
If you're planning a trip to Oahu for Father's Day weekend (June 19–21, 2026), or you live on the island and want a stand-out night out, the calendar centers around one event: the Aloha Tequila & Arts Festival. Here's what's on for the weekend.
Saturday, June 20 — Aloha Tequila & Arts Festival (the headline event)
From 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at International Market Place in Waikiki, the 1st Annual Aloha Tequila & Arts Festival brings together 80+ premium tequila, mezcal and agave spirits brands, top Oahu chefs and taco vendors, live music, DJs, mariachi, live painting, and an artisan mercado. It's a 21+ event and partial proceeds benefit the Aloha Cancer Project. This is the biggest tequila festival in Hawaii in 2026 — and likely the highlight of your weekend.
Friday, June 19 — Pre-festival Waikiki
Land early and explore Waikiki Beach, walk the Diamond Head crater for sunrise on Friday morning, and grab dinner at one of the chef-led restaurants you'll see represented at the festival the next day. International Market Place itself has plenty of pre-festival dining — make a reservation at Eating House 1849 by Roy Yamaguchi or grab cocktails at the rooftop bars along Kalakaua Avenue.
Sunday, June 21 — Father's Day & beach day
June 21, 2026 is Father's Day. After Saturday's festival, take Sunday slow with dad. Hit Lanikai Beach on the windward side for clear water and white sand, drive the North Shore for shaved ice in Haleiwa, or do brunch in Kaimuki. If you're leaving Sunday evening, you've still got time for a sunset Mai Tai at House Without a Key. The festival ticket itself makes a thoughtful Father's Day gift.
Where to stay near International Market Place
Walking distance to International Market Place: The Royal Hawaiian, Sheraton Waikiki, Halepuna Waikiki, Outrigger Reef, Hyatt Regency Waikiki. Most are 5–10 minutes on foot — meaning no rideshare back to your room after the festival.
Why tequila festivals are trending in 2026
Tequila and agave spirits are the fastest-growing premium spirits category in the US. Festivals like Aloha Tequila Fest combine the tasting-event format with food, music and culture — and Hawaii is the perfect setting given its tropical climate and strong agave-spirits culture (mai tais, palomas, spicy margaritas). If you're into agave, this is your weekend.
